Getting Engaged?
Just in case you were wondering, if you are in the market for a Diamond Engagement Ring, you only have 4 weeks until February 14 to complete your shopping, plan the deed and muster the courage.  Don’t put off finding the right diamond ring at the right price.  Check out our list of prominent retail jewelers, or visit your trusted local jeweler.  If you are just beginning the shopping process, and are not sure what diamond you should be looking for given your budget, you might want to check our “What Diamond Can I Afford?” tool.

Other Gifts?
If Cupid convinces you that diamond jewelry is the gift to give on Valentine’s Day this year, be sure to be a smart shopper and do your homework before you buy.  Remember, whether you are looking for diamond earrings or a diamond pendant, you don’t have to overpay for jewelry.  Diamonds and gold (and other precious metals) have market prices that fluctuate, and while prices are up since last year this time, prices have been fairly stable over the last three months. We recommend that any  diamond over .33 carat and of “J” color or better be purchased only from a retailer only if it has been professionally graded by a diamond grading lab (such as GIA) and a grading certificate is provided with the diamond for you.  By learning about diamonds, comparison shopping (including online), and verifying prices and values, you will be able to get the right diamond at the right price and not overpay by hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
